The Bucket Game

For those of you wondering what I did this past weekend or really what Brayden did this past week, I thought a video would be much better than explaining. You see Brayden has a new game he likes to play & it involves a bucket, his head & me having several heart attacks...

I don't know if you can tell or not in the video, but he was literally putting his arms out to guide him around until he ran into something- then I would freak- he would laugh and the cycle started over again. Needless to say, the bucket was put away and we went on another walk outside! We tend to go on multiple walks during the day, because being outside makes B mellow & that means a nice long nap for both of us when we get back! ;)

B is doing several other new things as well- like opening the dishwasher, the oven door & crawling on it(YUP-scarrry), speaking German or Japanese fluently( I can't tell yet what it is..haha), but all that will have to wait for another blog. I am pooped from chasing him around the house tonight-ha!

** Oh & no worries Brayden was not hurt in the making of this video, but I now have 5 new grey hairs**

Escaping, Dedication, Mother's Day & Graduation

Things have been kind of busy around here lately. Bailey graduated(woo hoo), school has been busy for me and Brayden is crawling out of his crib. YUP- my little man is an escape artist!

I thought about putting him in a toddler bed, but I really don't think he is ready. I know he wont stay in it and I know a baby gate wont keep him safe in his room. He knocked down my aunt's puppy gate trying to get in to play with the puppies...my little ninja-ha! Sooo... I bit the bullet(you won Kelsey) and bought a 'crib tent' for his crib. It is rather barbaric and I feel like I am caging in Brayden and I am trying to be okay with the tent, but me and Bailey are both having a hard time adjusting to it. On the plus side- It keeps out the mosquitoes and so he wont get eatin' up anymore at night- ha! All in all- it is safer for him, but still....having a hard time...

Anyway, he has been sleeping GREAT and we are all well-rested around here again..whoop! ;)

Brayden helping Daddy put the tent together ...

Sleeping so good...haha!

We dedicated Brayden Mother's Day weekend at church. It had been weighing heavy on our hearts for almost a year now and it made the weekend so wonderful. It is mainly for the parents and it is just a time where we commit to raising Brayden according to God's word and ways. It was wonderful and even the 30 minutes before the service where we had to be cooped up behind the stage were great too...ha! Brayden was all over the place and hitting on all the ladies(young and old). Literally, he went up to EVERY little girl and as soon as they noticed him he was off to the next one...it was rather cute. They gave each family a certificate, a little Bible and then a DVD of the ceremony. After church we went to Chick-fil-A for some dinner and to let Brayden play a bit.

B is getting so big!!

Then this past weekend Bailey GRADUATED!!!! It is amazing how fast the past 3 years have gone by and now he is done with school and is on the hunt for a big boy job, soooo if you know anybody hiring a handsome & hardworking man- I know just the guy! ;)

Bailey with his friend before they walked!

Brayden is becoming so social and made so many new friends at the graduation-haha! Anyway, after watching Bailey walk across the stage we all headed to lunch and had a great time.

Dressed up for Daddy's Big Day

He makes the funniest faces!

Aren't they so handsome! ;)

While we were at my aunt's Brayden took his 1st major fall and now I am on edge. He was walking and fell mouth first on the edge of a wooden stair. There was LOTS of blood, tears from both me and him and then some good Popsicle eating. B is much better now, but his gums are really bruised and thankfully that is all. I know there are a lot more accidents to come and I am not sure I am ready for that yet.

Well- just a few more weeks and I am done with school for the summer...I can't wait!! I plan to spend lots of time at the pool and just enjoying Brayden! :)

And just because I think this is so cute...

I love this little man so much!! :)

*I have been really bad at taking pictures lately and remembering to bring my camera around, but I've got way more pictures of this past weekend coming in a few days thanks to my MIL and SIL, so check back*

Bluebonnets

We went to Round Rock this weekend to celebrate my nephew's 3rd birthday! We had a great time & Brayden met a little girl that he followed around for awhile. He hugged her a few times, would not let go of her and then they both layed down on the mats for a short rest- it was the cutest thing until he tried to bite her- haha! (I am hoping he was really trying to kiss her though instead of biting- ha!)

We also got some Bluebonnet pics thanks to my SIL, Lindsay. She does such an awesome job taking pictures for me- loves you Lindsay! :) Here are just a few of my favorites....

It was drizzling the whole morning & Brayden had not taken a nap yet, so I didn't have high expectations for how he would do- which is why I let Bailey wear whatever. But he ended up doing wonderful & cooperated so well & a small part of me wishes I had made Bailey change his shirt before we left. Luckily for us though, Bailey looks good in grungy old shirts- so the family pics still turned out good! ;)

Anyway- we had an awesome weekend & I can't believe Jacob is 3! We are hoping to make it out to the zoo soon & I am counting down the days until summer...I can't wait! :)

Happy Easter!

We had a great 3-day weekend and it has made me that much more ready for summer! We had plans to go to the zoo on Friday, but yet again they were plans that were not kept. Bailey was supposed to get off work early & then we were going to go, but he did not get off work until 2...soo by that time it was kind of a wash to even head out there. Maybe ONE day soon we will actually make it out to the zoo...oh well!

Saturday we headed up to Bryan for the day to spend time with the Allen clan & had such a great time. Bailey's grandma came in town and she had not seen Brayden since the summer, so it was nice for her to be able to spend some time with B. His Aunt, Uncle and some cousins from Waco came down as well and all of Bailey's sisters were in town and so that meant all of the cousins were together and it was a nice treat. Of course, I failed to get ANY pictures which I am totally bummed about, but one day soon I will. Bailey managed to snap a few pictures of the egg hunt, but he is basically fired from camera duty! :)

Then on Sunday we went to my Aunt Missy's house to spend time with my family & had a great time there. Some of my family had not yet seen Brayden, so it was nice for them to finally meet as well. Of course Brayden was totally happy because not only were there stairs for him to go up & down on, BUT there were 2 puppies for him to love on! :)

Friday I thought it would be a good idea to do a 'practice round' of egg hunting & B thought it was a better idea to wear his hat as a basket! :)

The hunt is on...

As soon as he found some crayons- he was done with the eggs!

B's Easter Basket!

Shakin' the eggs..

Mm...cheerios!
B is for Brayden!

He wanted to try it on!

It fit great! ;)
This face cracks me up-haha!

So as I said- it was a great weekend spent with our wonderful family! :) I think Brayden likes the Easter bunny especially because he was left cheerios & vanilla wafers..ha!
