Puppy Dogs

Anybody who really knows me knows how terrified I used to be of dogs & how sometimes that terror still comes out! I am thinking this fear is not genetic because apparently Brayden LOVES dogs & thinks they are the funniest thing ever...literally! Don't believe me? Take a look...

All those smiles are from the puppy dog running right past him. I have never heard him laugh as hard as he did when he saw the puppy. I thought he was about to jump out of paw-paw's arms & onto the dog.

I guess this means that one day we will be getting dog. I mean seriously...how can I say no to that smile?! Could you??

I am Lovin' Life

The other night I was holding Brayden & he wrapped his little arms around my neck & HUGGED me! My heart melted ... I mean totally melted. Just when I thought I couldn't possibly love this little man anymore than I already do...he proved me wrong!

He has also found his tongue & loves to stick it at out you, lick your face & actually he just likes to lick anything now, ha! Oh & he is making this face all the time now...

We took Brayden to the park for the first time yesterday!! He swang some, sat by the lake, looked at the ducks & then swang some more!:)






Isn't his little 'Brayden' shirt too cute?! I LOVE it! I tried to get Bailey to agree to all of us having matching shirts like that, but I couldn't get him to budge on that one. Apparently, wearing a shirt that says 'dad' or even 'Bailey' was by no means appealing to him, lol!

Brayden sure is getting fast at this crawling business & he enjoys tackling you if you are laying on the ground, haha...

As sad as I get about the fact that he is growing so fast- I have to admit he gets more fun as each stage comes! It is so fun to watch his little personality mature & develop.

Oh & my first week of school went GREAT & I am very excited for this school year. I have an awesome team of ladies that I work with & the kids are great. I miss Brayden like crazy during the day, but I know he is in good hands & is having a blast playing with his friends at Sandy's!

We've got a 3-day weekend coming up & I can't wait! 3 whole days to spend with my boys!!! :)

Back to the Grind

Summer has ended & I am back at work, so life is going to get even more busy for us! Here is just a small glimpse of what the past week or so has held for us...

- I went back to work

-Bailey started the fall semester (just one semester to go after this...woo hoo!!)

- Brayden went back to the sitters

- I cried a little bit...okay who am I kidding...I cried A LOT

- The drive to the new school stinks & it took me over an hour and a half to get to Sandys & home from school

- I spent forever on google maps trying to find a shorter route from my school to Sandys

- I THINK I found the shorter route & am trying it out this week. As of now it is MUCH shorter, but I just hope it stays that way & traffic doesn't pick up on that side of the loop!

There is a lot more I could say about all those things, but that would be a snooze fest for you all, so I'll stop at that.

This past weekend we didn't do a thing & I loved it! We layed around in our pj's all day Saturday & Sunday & just played played played until it was time for bed. Now those are my kind of days! ;)

I really don't have too much else to say other than Brayden is now into 'squealing' & it is so cute! I keep trying to get a video, but as soon as I hit 'record' on the camera, he stops & just smiles..haha!:) What a toot! Hopefully, I can get a video of it this week & post it.

This next picture cracks me up! It totally shows what our lives our filled with...Brayden on the go & man is he fast! :)

I am already anxiously awaiting the weekend. I love my new school, my new team & the kids are great, BUT I miss Brayden terribly during the day & I look forward to the weekends because I get to spend it with my boys- I sure do love me some Bailey & Brayden time!!

6 Month Check-Up

We took Brayden to the doctor this week for his 6 month check-up & he did great. He had to get his shots, but I think it was more traumatizing for me than it was for him, lol! He cried as they were poking him, but as soon as I was able to pick him up, he was back to trying to grab my nose off my face & laughing, lol!

His measurements were:

Weight: 17 pounds 6 ounces- 50-75%
Height: 27 1/2 inches- 75-90%
Head: 17 1/8 inches- 50-75%

He is growing great & right along his growth curve. I really don't pay much attention to the percentiles, but I do think it is kind of fun to see where he falls according to the 'typical' baby his age. So according to these he is pretty average- can't complain about a thing!:)

I go back to work on Monday & so I am just soaking up every minute I can with Brayden. It will be hard for me, but I know he is going to have so much fun at Mrs. Sandy's in the fall with his friends. Before summer he was just getting the hang of rolling over & now he is crawling & moving all around, so I know they will have some serious fun!

Wordless Wednesday

Babyfood & 6 Months

So last night I decided to give making homemade babyfood a try & I was amazed with how easy it actually was. Not to mention how much fun I had doing it & it is so much cheaper than buying it already made. I made a bunch at once, froze it in ice trays & then this morning I put them in Ziploc baggies. They will be good for about 1-2 months frozen, so all I have to do is dethaw a few cubes for each meal & we are good to go. Also, if we are going somewhere, I will just put a few in a jar, bring a spoon & by lunch they will be thawed out & ready to eat! Although, there are a few foods you are not supposed to make yourself because of something they have in them, so I'll stick to Gerber for those & I will probably still use premade food from time to time, but for now I am enjoying this kick I am on with making my own.

Brayden had his first sample of fresh bananas this morning & he LOVED it. He usually eats pretty good to begin with, but he did not let one drop get on his face or bib today...now that is a first!:)

Annnnd Mr. Brayden is 6 months old today!! Half of a year- I can't believe it! And yes, I made a birthday cake...go ahead & make fun of me- I don't care...it's his half birthday today!!! :)

Lots of tricks

Last night when I put Brayden in his bed, he drooled for a few minutes(you can see the two puddles of drool) & then tried to stand on his head...

5 minutes later he was asleep, so it was definitely a 'whimper/talk/try to stand on head' method night. Apparently, this was something Bailey enjoyed doing too when he was younger. Like father like son! ;)

Also, Brayden is mobile!! I finally feel comfortable saying that he is crawling. He is still being rather cooperative & staying close by, so I do not have to start chasing him just yet. He also likes to stand up, hold onto my fingers & go for a short walk from the chair to his blanket where he then tries to stand on his head some more, chew on whatever he can and/or try to stand up using anything he can to help him!

Once again tilt your head! ;)

I really do not know why I am encouraging this new found method of moving around so much, because it is just a matter of time before he starts walking & then running- oh my! Bailey & I are going to have our hands full with this extremely cute & full of energy kiddo!

I've got exactly 2 more weeks at home with my little man before I go back to work & I know it will be more traumatizing for me than for him, haha!:) I bet he can't wait to go back to his friends & to Mrs. Sandy where he can learn some more tricks & show us just how big he really is!
